Meet Maria de Campos, a contemporary artist born in 1977 in Portugal, currently living in France. After completion of an artistic course from the famous French art school “Les Beaux Arts”, she directed her plastic approach to Pop Art, expressionism, abstract and Street art.
She is mainly a painter, expressing herself with her own technique mixing paint, bonding, oil pastel and pictures. At times she also uses different techniques of expression such as video or sculptures.
The iconographic image is key in her art, it reveals the artist and her original and recognizable style. She often creates paintings with a plain background offering a better vision of the art.
Marilyn Monroe is her favourite character and she designs the pictures in many different ways giving a tribute to her artist of reference: Andy Warhol.
